This outfit was inspired by all the time we’ve had to spend at home the last few years. Salt wanted to create an outfit that would give you the comfort of your pajamas but also be stylish enough to step out in. Worn as a set, it resembles a romper. The set can also be styled separately. The top, paired with your favorite jeans and the bottom with your favorite top. The options are quite endless with this style, and this could be a valued addition to your wardrobe.

The wrap top can also be worn in three different ways! A simple overlap of the two sashes at the front gives the top a higher neckline and knotting them at the front gives it a deeper neckline. The top can also be worn front to back to create a completely different look with a boat neck and a gorgeous plunging back. The soft viscose fabric used for this is comfortable enough to sleep in but also looks fancy enough to step out in!

This beautifully handcrafted piece of clothing is made in Salt’s little workshop in Sri Lanka. The motif is drawn by hand using beeswax and then the fabric is dipped in dye to add the secondary color. The fabric is then boiled in hot water to remove the wax and dried before turning it into this timeless piece. This process is repeated for each additional color.

As each piece is individually hand drawn there may be slight variances in the distribution of the print, which makes each piece a 100% unique!

Some fabric take up to 3 – 7 days to develop. Salt’s aim is to revitalize this dying art and give it a more edgy yet graceful touch, whilst also providing members of their community with a livelihood and an opportunity to learn new skills through their training programs.
